Ninth District Talent Hunt Information Sheet

We greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  This is to inform you that our Ninth District 68th Annual Talent Hunt Program has been scheduled for Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, 1051 Highway 165 By-Pass, Monroe, Louisiana, (318)387-5100 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The hotel is located at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Highway 165.  Brothers, this is a national mandated program. 

 

The local Talent Hunt provides the impetus for the District and National participation.  Emphasis should be placed on identifying the best available talent within your area.  Each chapter must conduct an official Talent Hunt Program according to the prescribed guidelines available on request.  Please be mindful that the participant’s academic achievement should be considered as well.

 

POINTS TO REMEMBER

 

  1. DRESS SELECTION:

Males – Dark suites or tuxedos

Females – Dressy dress or evening attire

Appropriate attire for drama and/or dance

 

  1. Selections should be limited to seven (7) minutes or less

 

  1. Winners will receive the following:
    1. 1st Place - $500.00
    2. 2nd Place - $300.00
    3. 3rd Place - $200.00

 

  1. PARTICIPATION AREAS:
    1. Vocal Solo
    2. Instrumental Solo
    3. Piano Solo
    4. Dance
    5. Drama and Readings

 

  1. Rehearsal will be from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 2005 at the Holiday Inn and Suites Hotel.  A specific room will be announced later.

 

  1. IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE PRINTED PROGRAM.  THE ENCLOSED NINTH DISTRICT TALENT HUNT APPLICATION (with brief bio and current photograph) MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE LOCAL TALENT HUNT CHAIRMAN AND MAILED TO BE RECEIVED BY ME NO LATER THAN MARCH 7, 2005.  Please mail a completed (all blanks must be completed) application form to the address listed below:

7.      Female participants that qualify for the District Talent Hunt must be chaperoned by an adult.

 

8.      Only graduating high school seniors will be eligible to participate in the Ninth District Talent Hunt Competition.

 

9.      Local chapters are responsible for transportation, food and lodging of their Talent Hunt participants.  Local chairman should make hotel reservations for their participants as soon as possible.

 

10.  All local chairman planning to attend the District Meeting are invited to participate in the Talent Hunt program. Your assistance will be needed as ushers and back stage monitors.  Please call or write to me immediately so that we can include your name on the program and plan for the assistance of participants.  If you need additional information, please contact me at one of the number listed above.
