Brothers of the mighty Ninth District,

There are 206 days before the general election that will seat the next President of the United States. It is not my position to tell you who to vote for, yet vote informed on who best provides the platform that suits your needs & desires for the direction of our country. As your Political Action Chairman I would ask each State to commit to the following;

• Each state rep appoints a PAC for his area, forward those names & contact information to myself and cc the 9th District KRS.

• Each Basileus appoint a voter registration brother within each chapter, if not already done

• Have him responsible for supplying voter registration forms obtained from your respective county election board

• At a minimum of twice a month (meeting day works great or community action projects) promote voter registration within your respective neighborhoods provide numbers to your respective PAC chairman who in turn provide numbers of forms dispersed and/or mailed to your county election board. Please forward those numbers to my personal email so I can record them: mwalker31@cox.net

We’ve seen some announcements and congratulatory notes from individual chapters regarding their Spring 2012 initiates. These are nice welcoming gestures for our new members and show our Brotherhood in its truest form.

For your information, below is the complete list of Spring 2012 initiates. I would like to thank Immediate Past DR Bro. Shawn Brewer for leading the execution of the Spring 2012 MSP, as this is a major piece of work. Also heavily involved at the district level, especially with the upfront assessment of packets, is the 1^st Vice DR Bro. Ramon Simon and, for individual areas, the State Representatives. And, executing the day to day activities associated with MSP are the MSP Chairmen, Chapter Officers and Chapter Members. 2012 International Undergraduate Summit which will be held in Atlanta, GA on March 9-10, 2012. Our host, the International Undergraduate Council, has chosen the theme “Perseverance is the Key”.

Grand Basileus Bro. Ray and 2nd Vice Grand Basileus Bro. Littlejohn are requesting every undergraduate chapter to be represented at the meeting. Registration for the event is currently available. You must go the International website and login (www.oppf.org). The cost of registration is $100 per member

2012 Arkansas State Meeting

The Arkansas Chapters of Omega Psi Phi will hold its Annual State Meeting on February 18, 2012 in Arkadelphia, AR . Delta Kappa Kappa(ΔKK-Graduate) and Xi Beta(ΞB-Undergraduate) will serve as the host chapters and they’ve went to great extremes to ensure that you enjoy your visit to the “Natural State”. Brothers are advised to register online in advance by clicking on the below link. For Brothers arriving on Friday evening, we encourage you to stop by and enjoy the hospitality suite and warm welcomes. Saturday morning there will be a complimentary breakfast catered by Henderson State University at 8:00 a.m. The State Meeting will open promptly at 9:00 a.m.
